ACTIVITIES RELATED WITH GAMES


ACTIVITY Nº 1

Name

Riddles about animals.
Duration

To 5 from 10 minutes.
Age

5- 6 years old.
Materials
Cards


The teacher can use this activity to finish the teaching unit because the children have to know the different animals to play this game.
The game can be played on the floor when children are relaxed.
The teacher says a riddle and kids have to answer and tell her or him an animal. Moreover, the teacher can use different cards where there are pictures about the riddle to help children.
 This activity is about animals, but the teacher can use other topics to work like jobs or fruits.

For example, “What has to be broken before you can use it?”

ACTIVITY Nº 2

Board, die, pieces to play, cards with questions and answers.


It is a game that everyone knows, but it is changed. The teacher can change the questions depend on the topic. If the teaching unit is about the colours, the questions can be about the colours or things with colours.
Moreover it can be a form to evaluate children.





ACTIVITY Nº 3

Name

Simon says.
Duration

To 5 to 15 minutes.

5-6 years old.
Materials

Everyone have to sit down on circle in the class. The teacher says an action and children have to do that. For example “Simon says that you touch your nose”, and every children have to touch their nose. It is a form to review different topic like the parts of body or actions and verbs.
It can be difficult if the teacher put conditions like “Simon says that children who wear red t-shirt touch his or her nose”.
It is a form to evaluate children.




ACTIVITY Nº 4

The colours’ road
Duration

4-5 years old.
Materials
Photocopies of feet, paint, and colour’s die.


The game consists in two activities.
The first one is about the footprint. The teacher takes a photo of two feet each one child. And they have to paint that with the paint they want.
When it was done, the teacher sticks the pictures on the floor and children have to surround it.
The game resides that child rolls the colour’s die and, for example it is yellow, he or she has to go to the other side walking on the yellow’s footprint.



ACTIVITY Nº 5

Materials
Cardboards and Velcro.

This activity has as purpose to know the name of the rooms and the different objects of them.
The teacher makes a house with cardboards with the different rooms. In each, there is an element that identifies the room.
The teacher talks about the house, rooms and things there are. After that, children have to identify the rooms and put in each the different rooms.


ACTIVITY Nº 6

Twister

3-4 years old.
Materials

A mat with circles in different colours, a cardboard which has the four colours and four parts of body (right/left foot and right/left, hand) and a spinner. If the teacher or any child has the game of “Twister” it is possible use it.



Everyone knows the game “Twister”. The mat has four rows of large coloured circles on it with a different colour in each line: red, yellow, green and blue. The spinner is divided into four sections: right/left foot and right/left hand. Each of those four sections is divided into four colours. After spinning, the combination is called (for example: right hand yellow) and the player must move his or her matching hand or foot to a circle of the correct colour. A child is eliminated when he or she fall or when his or her elbow or knee touches the mat.

Materials

Mat, which is painted four animals, a cardboard which is divided in four animals and right/left hand and right/left foot, and a hand.


This game is similar to “the twister”, but it is with animals. The rules are the same, but instead of circles of colours, it is with the faces of different animals, for example, monkey, fish, frog and stork. With that, the teacher can work the different animals, or types of animal (mamals, amphibians, fowls…) or their tracks, etc…





ACTIVITY Nº 8

3-4 years old.
Materials
Cellophane tape with different colours.


The teacher sticks on the floor the cellophane with different forms, for example a circle, square and triangle. Children are around the forms and wait that the teacher says “In the circle”. Everyone has to be inside of it.
The teacher can to complicate the game using the colours in the cellophane tape. For example, the teacher says “in the red circle”.
Moreover, the teacher can use characteristics of children like the clothes: “children who wear red t-shirt in the blue triangle”.

Guess what my job is.

A child is the volunteer to start the game. He or she thinks about a job. The child has to represent the job to the other children guess it. The child who represent cannot say anything, and he or she only does gestures.
The child who guesses what the job is, he or she has to represent.

We have cards with differents family members, the children have to ask other classmate about one car in particular, like “mother of the family number” if his/her classmate has that card they can continue asking if not is the turn of other child.
The child who gets complete more families, win.

We’ll make chips. Using numbers and fruit. The children have to put the chip conecting with other that have the same number, not necessary the same fruit. The chips are going to be from number 1 to number 6.

One child goes to the blackboard and the teacher says him/her one word, an object, food, animals… and the other children have to guess the picture as quick as they can.
The child who guess the picture first goes to the blackboard andi s his/her turn to draw.

We’ll make a game similar to parchis the children have to rolling a die and goes to the next box, in each box there is a little fitting like “find 3 things red” or “say 5 differents animals” the children have 30 seconds for do this If the doing they can continue play in the next turn

We’ll made cards with diferents simbols and colours. Each child takes 6 cards. They have to play continue put in the middle of the table a card that has something similar than the card before, colour or form.

We’ll make 2 teams and each team think one persono f this team and say it to the teacher then the other team have to guess  who is the person that they have tought.
They make questions like “is he a boy?” “is he blonde” “has he got brown eyes?” and the other team only can say yes or no.
The team that guess first what person it was, win.

We’ll make cards with 8 pictures en each one, pictures like animals, food or other object.
Each child have one card and the teacher will takes cards from a box and show the children sayind the picture. The first children who complete his/her card wins.


ACTIVITY Nº18

One child has a card with an animal in his/her head and only the rest of the children know what animal he/she is.
He/she has tu ask some questions and try to guess what animal he/she is.
The questions wil be like “am i green?” or “am i a big animal?”, the children only can answer yes or no.

Pictures of children and clothes

We’ll make two pictures, one girl and one boy and the children have to dress them. The teacher will say clothes one by one and the children have to take the pictures of these clothes and put on the pictures of a boy and a girl.
